This is a guilt free sweet to eat as it is made with all natural ingredients and no sugar at all.
And eating dates and other dry fruits just do good to your health in winter. Dates are hot in nature so a must have for the season. Adding other dry fruits make it healthier for sure. And it is made in ghee to balance the heat of all these dry fruits. And definitely a good alternative for the sweets and chocolates.
So let’s munch on this delicacy.
Black Dates 500 gms
Cardamom powder 1 teaspoon
Clarified butter (ghee) 2 table spoons
Deseed the dates and mash them well.
Chop all the other dry fruits except raisins.
Heat ghee in thick bottomed pan.
Add deseeded dates, chopped almonds, pistachios, cashewnuts, figs and raisins.
Mix well until you get a soft ball out of the mixture. This mixture will start leaving ghee. And it is ready.
Now add cardamom powder. Mix well.
Take the entire hot mixture in a plate.
Let it cool down a little.
Apply some ghee on palms.
Make 4 parts of the mixture.
Roll them in cylindrical shapes and wrap in plastic.
Keep the wrapped rolls in freezer for half an hour.
After half an hour, remove the rolls from fridge.
Remove the Plastic wrapper.
Cut these rolls in round shapes.
You can preserve this burfi for over a month in fridge and around 15 days at room temperature.
PS – This burfi leaves little moisture so becomes sticky. you can sprinkle some milk powder to make them moisture free. Else can have it without the milk powder.
You can also use the red dates, but the black ones are softer than the red ones. So completely your choice which one to be used.
You can change the ratio of other dry fruits as you want.
