Daman is a 3 hours drive from Mumbai. It is a union territory situated at West coast of India. And it is a well known and most favourite weekend getaway from 2 neighbouring states, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
I mentioned in my earlier post that my daughter is fascinated with Sun, Sand and Sea; and the beach excursions are one of the most favourite things we like to do very often. So the weekend outings to the beaches nearby Mumbai happen quite frequently.
Things To Do In Daman
1. Devka Beach
This is one of the topmost attractions of Daman. Devka beach is located at Moti Daman and is a very serene and clean beach to enjoy a day trip. There is a garden nearby Devka Beach that has a huge fountain and kids can enjoy the view.
2. Mirasol Lake Garden
Mirasol lake garden is another great tourist attraction known for its great architecture and design. It is a must visit place during your visit to Daman.
3. St. Jerome Fort
This fort is said to be built in the 17th century. It has a great designed structure from the Portuguese era. It is also known as Nani Daman Fort as it is located at Nani Daman.
4. Jampore Beach
Jampore Beach is located at a distance of approximately 5 km from Moti Daman Jetty. The reason this beach stands out among all is the blackish muddy water and serenity around the beach. Another great attraction is the water sports and parasailing.

Vaibhav Water World has become a prominent tourist attraction in recent times. This huge water park is loved by kids and adults. It consists of a total of 36 rides to have fun with.
So this is Daman and it is not enough for just a weekend trip. Spare some time and roam around this leisure getaway. Rich Portuguese architecture, serene beaches and some yummilicious food and seafood at the restaurants like Zaika, Tulip Bar and Restaurant, Silver Sands Restaurant, Daman Delight and Meridian Guzzlers and Sizzlers.
Pind Punjab Da and Veera Da Dhaba are surely not to miss for their Punjabi Tadka food.
