Summers have arrived and are being unbearable. Hot and humid days are making us exhausted. This is the time when we need some cool summer drinks to relish on.
Traditionally Indians prefer sipping freshly churned buttermilk during the afternoons to get rid of heat. Buttermilk is known as a very healthy drink to have during summers as it nourishes body and fills up lost fluid again.
Here is a version of buttermilk served in Indian homes frequently. This Healthy mint cooler doesn’t only help you stay cool during hot weathers but also provides many essential vitamins and calcium as this is a combo of Mint, Cumin Seeds, Coriander, and Buttermilk.
So here is the recipe of this healthy mint cooler
Preparation Time: 10 Minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
100 grams Fresh Mint (Pudina Leaves)
100 grams Fresh Coriander Leaves
1 bowl of fresh curd
1 tablespoon Crushed Cumin Seeds
Salt As Per Taste (Preferably Pink Salt / Sendha Namak)
Water as Required for Griding Mint And Coriander leaves and to be mixed with Curd to make buttermilk
Method
Wash Mint And Coriander Leaves Thoroughly and Make Sure all the mud is removed well
Now Add Both Of Them in a Mixie
Add Crushed Cumin Seeds
Grind this mixture, add water as needed to make a coarse paste of Mint and Coriander Leaves
(You can store this paste for 2-3 days in the refrigerator)
Now beat the curd with a whisk and bring it to a smooth consistency.
Add some Salt and Mint-Coriander paste to the curd and mix it well.
Now add water to this curd-mint-coriander mixture and keep stirring with the whisk so that it will get mixed well.
Serve this healthy mint cooler in tall glasses and sip through health and taste.
This Curd-Mint-Coriander Cooler has many health benefits. This drink is calcium and protein-rich and the cumin seeds are a good source of iron.
