Top 15 Safest & Best Baby Shampoo In India

My search for the best baby products had started even before the arrival of my daughter. I was preparing for my postnatal routine much before my delivery. Babies don’t come with a manual, and all the babies are uniquely different from each other. As the characteristics differ from one to the other, I had to go for the products that suited my baby after her birth. And all my preparation had gone into the trash.

I had read about a few baby products brands and had purchased them in advance. My mother-in-law kept saying that you should not buy anything for the baby before its arrival. I thought its a myth, but no it had some sense.

We should buy the baby products after the arrival of the baby because it is the time when we actually understand the baby’s skin and hair texture and can decide for the suitable products in a much better manner.

So the baby soap and shampoo I had purchased after reading a lot of reviews, did not suit my newborn at all. I stopped using it for a while and started looking for better and safe baby products.

During this journey of baby care, I have tried many products and haven’t faced any issues apart from the very first product I had used. It was a well known and most trusted brand but turned out to be a nightmare for us. So we opt for baby-safe products only and I would never recommend a product to my fellow moms if it has not suited my own child.

How To Select The Best Baby Shampoo For Your Child

While deciding on the baby shampoo for the delicate and sensitive skin of the babies, you need to read the labels for sure. Here is a checklist for baby shampoos.

  • Natural Ingredients
  • Should be Hypoallergenic
  • Ideal pH balance (preferably pH 5.5)
  • SLS Free
  • Paraben-Free
  • Fragrance-Free or mild fragrance
  • Preservative-Free
  • Mineral Oils-free

Keeping an eye for the details of the ingredients of baby products is extremely essential to avoid further issues and side-effects.

This is a great post, I especially appreciate the information regarding what ingredients you should look for to begin with. Many people don’t bother checking the ingredients and just go with what they receive at baby showers or what they see in commercials on tv. Thank you for sharing what you’ve found through your own research and experience!

Good detailed list to help parents. It can be overwhelming in deciding which products will work well on your baby. I tended to used the dove or Honest brand when daughter was a baby. Other products I noticed was too harsh.

Sebamed products are really good. I agree with your thoughts that every baby’s skin is different. My younger one has very different skin than my elder kid. I was not able to use the same baby products on her which I used for my elder one. You have created a long list which can provide many options to the parents to choose from. Awesome work

I am currently using Cetaphil and Sebamed for my kids and have used other brands in the past. I am so glad you have not included many OTC baby care brands which claim to be safe but actually are not.
    Thanks,
