Picky Eater or Fussy Eater, Every other child is being described this way. Kids are becoming tougher to handle these days. Their eating habits are changing with time.
Chutney is a kind of sauce or dip, used in Indian cuisine. You may find a variety of chutneys in Indian households. From North India to the South, From East to the West; the humble chutney is a part of every Indian’s life.
I have been very fond of different types of chutneys since my childhood and I try to introduce them to my daughter too. An ordinary chutney can become extraordinarily healthy if we add some additional ingredients to the basic chutney recipes.
Here is my recipe of chutney which is rich in protein and calcium and has no artificial flavours at all. So my fussy eater gets her dose of calcium, protein and other essential vitamins through this Peanut-coconut chutney.
Protein and Calcium Rich Food – Chutney
Ingredients –
A handful of roasted peanuts (high protein source)
100 grams of freshly grated coconut (a rich source of essential fats)
1 teaspoon sesame seeds (source of calcium and fats)
A handful of coriander leaves
2-3 garlic cloves (peeled)
A small piece of ginger
4-5 curry leaves
1 green chilli (Definitely optional)
Salt as per taste
Water as required for grinding
Method –
Add all the ingredients to the blender. Add very little water for grinding.
Grind it to a smooth paste, keep adding water to manage consistency.
You can keep it thick or thin, as per your preference.
Serve this delicious chutney / dip with dosa, parathas, Roti, khakra, Pakoda, and fries.

This healthy blend of peanuts, sesame seeds, coconut along with ginger, garlic and coriander makes this recipe extremely healthy and it does not contain any harmful colours or flavours.
You can give this chutney to the kids’ tiffins and be rest assured that your child is getting their daily dose of fats, calcium and protein.

Chutney is an essential in almost every meal in India, especially if it’s some snack like idli, wada or samosa. Your recipe looks very tempting. I will definitely try this one.
