My daughter is fond of beach holidays and even a regular outing to Juhu beach makes her super excited. What makes me worried a lot is harsh sun these days. Bidding adieu to the cozy winters and facing the hot summers is a really unpleasant experience for me and my daughter.
I cannot stop her from going out in day time and can’t even skip the beach visits on weekends. Sea is the only thing that fascinates her so very much. Rather than taking her away from her love for beach, I need to find a solution for this problem.
Sunscreen lotion is the only solution after covering her with caps and clothes. But as soon as we go out or reach the seashore, she just throws away her cap and gets immensely involved in the sand and the waves.
So what remains as a shield from the harmful UVA/UVB rays, is the sunscreen applied on her face and the body.
Selecting the right sunscreen plays a vital role in the sun protection regime for babies and kids.
Why Sunscreen Is Important For Babies And Kids?
Babies and kids have sensitive skin. Harsh sun rays contain harmful UVA/ UVB rays and that can give a lifetime damage to your child’s skin. Severe sun rays can cause Melanoma, which is the deadliest type of skin cancer.
UVA (Ultraviolet A) rays cause skin tan whereas UVB (Ultraviolet B) rays cause skin burns. Sun tan and sun burns are equally harmful and damaging to the baby’s skin.
Using minimum SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 15 is must for any human being. The highest amount of SPF you would find is 50+ as per FDA rules and regulations that gives 98% protection from UVA/UVB rays.
Sun rays are extremely intense during 10 am and 3 pm, so it is advised to avoid this time for outings to keep your baby safe from harmful rays. But whenever you go out, make sure you apply high SPF sunscreen which has broad spectrum (protects from UVA and UVB both).
Why pH 5.5 is good?
pH value is measured from 0 to 14, and value below 7 shows acidic and above 7 shows alkaline. Normal pH value of the human skin is 5.5. If the acid mantle is disturbed due to harmful product usage or any other external factors, the skin becomes unprotected towards bacterial or fungal infections. So it becomes necessary to read the labels about pH balance of any baby product.
Why Baby Sebamed Sun Care
I prefer reading the ingredients and specifications of the products that I am going to use for my child. And trying them on myself is my first experiment always.
As a parent, I have to give the best to my child and protect her from every threat. That may include the products I use for her. I inspected the pack of Sebamed before purchasing it.
Sebamed Sunscreen pack shows the pH balance is 5.5 which is suitable to baby’s delicate skin. It is hypoallergenic in nature so keeps me worry free of allergic reactions on to my child’s skin. Sebamed sunscreen lotion comes in various options of SPF and one can choose from the variety. The one I am using is SPF 50+ which is very high and capable of protecting the child from damaging sun rays. It is water resistant so is a must have during swimming sessions and beach excursions.
I have used few other brands of baby sunscreen lotions which needed frequent reapplication. But Sebamed sunscreen lotion is thick and remains on skin for longer hours and needs lesser reapplications.
Baby Sebamed Sun Care protects and takes care of my daughter’s skin.
I apply Baby Sebamed SPF 50+ sunscreen lotion to my daughter’s face and body 20-30 minutes before going outdoors. Massaging the lotion gently and evenly into the skin is important. And I make sure I use a sufficient amount of lotion for better protection of my child’s skin.
Baby Sebamed sunscreen lotion is a savior for my child’s love for outdoors and beach expeditions. It lets my child enjoy and keeps the mom in me happy too.

Great and detailed post. Could you please clear my doubt?
Are these sunscreen lotions 100% safe for the baby? Because unknowingly we are sending foreign particles into Baby’s body

Yes, Sebamed is surely safe. Do a patch test on yourself and then on your baby before using any baby product. If patch test is successful then you can start using them.
